This character Noah seems pretty cool, yeah? This stylin’-action shot here is kind of the all-action equivalent of the flipped skirt, or the tsundere blush. It’s pulling a string. It’s part of a series I enjoy for the characters as much as the wider content.
Which is just as well, considering that the content of Soul Eater has been getting increasingly wonky. Ohkubo has really delivered on making his villain menacing, even if a whole lot of the arc has been half-delivered ideas (the whole deadly sins thing has been a gigantic cocktease) and interminable rambling. Odd really, that so little of the rambling has come from the crazy lead baddie, and so much from Girico (what is he even doing here?) and a rampant inkstain.
About all Noah does is fuck people over, pose, and say the same knowledge/power thing. We know remarkably little about him. Which is almost certainly hurting the story in three or four ways, but doesn’t stop the author from bigging him up to persistently pleasing effect.
